Our Story

Mario Ramirez worked as a Location Manager and Producer for 10 years before starting Reel Security Corp. As a production professional, Mario saw the undeniable need for a security and safety solution that could support the challenging demands of production logistics and schedules.

As President and CEO, Mario quickly established Reel Security as the premier security provider for the entertainment industry in Los Angeles. Its reputation has since taken the firm to work in nearly all 50 states, leading to permanent offices in Atlanta, New Orleans, New Mexico and most recently London.

With the COVID pandemic shutting down the film industry in 2020, Mario helped the industry return to work, developing COVID safety protocols and working closely with studios and unions in his creation of Reel Health.

It’s Mario’s vision to bring an innovative approach to assisting the television and film industry in meeting its needs in an ever-expanding market.

2000

Reel Security is founded

Reel Security is founded in California by Mario Ramirez, who brings a decade of first-hand expertise in the entertainment industry as a former Location Manager and Producer.

2001

LA’s premier security provider

Doubled the number of productions. Developed a software solution to work hand and glove with productions — bringing simplicity and organization, improving communication and providing complete transparency with financial spend.

2012

Rapidly growing and supporting productions

Manage over a hundred productions simultaneously across the country (over 500 a year).
Open offices in Georgia and Louisianna.

2020

Reel Health & Safety Opens in NYC

Reel Health was created in response to the pandemic to provide Medical Staff, Hygiene crews, PPE and laboratory partnerships for COVID-19 testing. In less than a year, we supported over 180 shows across the country.

2022

Going global

Open an office at Pinewood Studios in London to support productions in the UK and Europe.

We’ll soon be expanding Reel Security in New York.

Our partners operate in all 50 states with offices in California, Georgia, Louisiana and New Mexico. Our UK partner, opened in 2022 at Pinewood Studios, serves as our European hub.

Fully licensed, bonded and insured

We’re a licensed Private Patrol Operator (PPO) company. We are fully licensed, bonded and insured.

All of Reel Security's and our strategic partners and guards are licensed as required by law. We conduct complete civil, criminal, and sex offender background checks on all officers.

Our internal technology assists in the process of checking guard card licenses are active up to date, meals are taken on time and hours and overtime are properly accounted for.
